Hi there, it is Meeting Trees!
This is the second half of GW but unfortunately it is not a great
weather at all. If you go out, watch your step and if you are stay in,
chill out at home!

Here is a continued story of the previous one ‘Learning Herbal
Medicine in England’.

Well, finally I completed the science foundation course and started
with the herbal medicine course. This is a 3 years degree course and
anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, Phytochemistry, botany,
phytomedicine, dietary therapy, perspectives in
complementary medicine etc, were provided at the 1st year (*I think
the syllabus has changed since I had.)
All syllabus were interesting to learn but I particularly loved botany
and phytomedicine classes.
We often went to the nearest parks, some botanic gardens in London
to learn identifications of plants, if they are medicinal plants, learning
about their usages etc. I’ve met so many new and known plants there.

In the phytomedicine class, leaning making and taking many types of
internal and external herbal medicine (it was very fun!), the Humoral Theory, flower remedy, etc. I still look at the handouts to learn of
them.

Alongside of these academic classes, the course provided a practical-
oriented education too. There is a small natural remedies clinic in the
Uni and all herbal students had to take clients there.
We were at
1st year, observed how senior students take clients, how to choose
herbs, learn clinical skills etc. I didn't notice well at the time but once I started taking clients I realised how hard to do by 5 or 6 people
included a tutor watching! Well, will write this about more next time!

The course also provided a personal and professional development
classes for 3 years. It was pretty hard for me as I had to discuss at
least once during each classes but I realised how much I have changed
myself.

OK, it is going to be a bit long to me now, Lol!
Will write about what the herbal medicine etc. I didn’t meant to make
this as a series but it will be!
Thanks for reading!

※ I left the university for few years and the situations have
changed. I am writing about ‘my experiences’ and not today’s
information. If you want to know about the details please check to
relevant organisations.
